About the Series

In February 2014 the Department of History and Anthropology at the University of Central Missouri launched a new lecture series to commemorate the centennial anniversary of World War I.

Each semester over the next few years we will host two to four events as part of the series, including lectures, panel discussions, film screenings, dramatic readings of WWI literature, teacher's workshops, and other activities led by scholars in the respective fields from the UCM community as well as by visiting scholars.  Events will be held primarily at the University of Central Missouri campus in Warrensburg and are open to the public.

The series also produces a newsletter twice a year; access to previous editions can be found below.

Vol. 1, No. 1  Spring 2014

Vol. 1, No. 2  Fall 2014

If you have additional questions, would like to feature the series in your publication, or have suggestions for future events, please contact the series organizer Dr. Jessica Cannon (jacannon@ucmo.edu).
